    Adnan Faisal heads the “Technology Incubation Center” at NUST, the largest tech incubator in Pakistan.

    Mr. Adnan has first hand exposure to technology entrepreneurship and investing in them. His first startup, Emmaculate, was a software technology firm, which he successfully grew and later sold in 2006. He has since been investing in listed technology companies on a global scale, on behalf of various US-based hedge funds. Adnan is an MBA from IBA, Karachi and holds the CFA Charter from CFA Institute, USA.

    • Ahmer Mumtaz – Founder and CEO PlanetBeyond

      With a Masters from Brunel University UK, Ahmer has over 15 years of experience, 11 of which are dedicated to his own venture. The venture deals with servicing the Telecom sector in Pakistan in areas like ongoing management of consumer WEB, mobile applications, Value Added Services (VAS), Customer Care, and Billing systems.

      Ahmer’s vast experience has allowed him to harness strategic business skills to resolve conflicts and help bring economic prosperity to the country. He also has notable experience working for philanthropic organizations.

      • Ambreen Malik – Chief Innovation & Financial Inclusion Officer at U Microfinance Bank

          Ms. Malik is the Chief Innovation & Financial Inclusion Officer at U Microfinance Bank – a PTCL Company.

          Ms. Malik is a graduate of London School of Economics and Political Science and holds degrees in Business, Development and Urban policy. She has nearly 15 years of work experience spanning Pakistan, UK and The Philippines. She has worked in Retail and Priority banking and Trade Finance with AMB AMRO Pakistan, Dubai Islamic Bank Pakistan and HBL, UK respectively. A shift in career took her to the likes of Habitat for Humanity International, The Asia Foundation and Senate of Philippines. She has also taught at National University of Science & Technology – Islamabad.

          Ms. Malik carries an incredibly diverse experience and is committed to bringing financial inclusion to Pakistan with a particular focus on women entrepreneurs in semi rural and rural setting.

          • Amir Hussain – CEO, Ovex Technologies

            Amir Hussain, a qualified Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan, is a cool headed and ardent corporate strategist. He has over 15 years of leadership and management experience in defining strategic road maps, and creating & maintaining collaborative business relationships that deliver. Amir is currently heading Ovex as its CEO. His association with Pakistani BPO industry dates back over six years. Before joining Ovex, he worked for KPMG Taseer Hadi & Co, and other renowned accounting and consulting firms in various senior management capacities.

            • Arsalan Vardag – Co-founder, J.A.S.B. & Associates

              A chartered accountant by profession, Arsalan is co-founder and partner of J.A.S.B. & Associates, Chartered Accountants – a full service public accounting firm that has offices in Islamabad and Karachi with more than 80 team members. It provides a variety of services including accounting, auditing, taxation, corporate, and consulting. The various industries it serves includes oil & gas, telecom & technology, FMCG, development, and the public sector.

              Arsalan is a true believer in entrepreneurship as it not only allows economic freedom but more importantly the freedom to think and to pursue one’s dreams and aspirations. He is also part of OPEN Islamabad’s Legal Clinic initiative. He is a sports enthusiast and has been participating in athletics, swimming, and rock climbing.

              • Ashok Malani – Founder & CEO of xFlow Research Pvt. Ltd

                  xFlow Research is based in USA and Pakistan and focuses on leading edge research in computer networking, IoT, Analytics, SDN, NFV etc. He loves technology and is passionate about it. He works with Academia on research and papers. He has two daughters, loves theater, film, psychology and a chai with good friends. Enjoy working in theater and films. Love art as well. Sometimes books as well, although never finish them. Oh another thing, he loves traveling in northern Pakistan.

                  • Asim Ghaffar – VP R&D at LMKR

                    Asim is leading ICIL, a joint program of Code for Pakistan and OPEN Islamabad. A graduate of the Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, he has a strong passion for building open source apps to solve civic problems. Asim has worked as a Senior Software Engineer for Nokia Siemens Networks in the past, and also ran a software consultancy for Pakistan Air Force. With 12 years of experience under the belt, he is currently the VP RnD at LMKR.

                    • Asim Majeed – Managing Director and Owner at Second Cup Pakistan

                        Having had an extensive experience in the Real estate and Construction sector in Islamabad, and in his family’s Retail Business in the Middle-East, Asim had the opportunity to bring Second Cup Coffee Co. Inc. to Pakistan through Mater Franchising rights for the country. Second Cup is now the fastest growing café chain in the country, with around 14 stores in the first four years of operations. The brand has augmented its position in the Pakistan market through a combination of excellent management, team building and robust growth in the ultra-competitive coffee industry.

                        An MBA from NUST Business School, he’s had an ambitious career graph of Entrepreneurship in the last 14 years, with aim to further explore the dynamic Retail sector of Pakistan through new and upcoming opportunities and build a competitive edge for all stake holders.

                          Ather, with a Masters degree from Purdue University, has over 15 years of professional experience with various IT & ITES organizations. He is currently the Chief Executive Officer at Sybrid Private Limited.

                          Besides work, Ather is an active blogger (http://thinkingspirits.com) and a mentor. He is known for creating platforms for professionals and is currently engaged in a major nonprofit effort to establish Islamabad as a knowledge city. Ather actively volunteers for educational and health welfare organizations, and regularly speaks at various universities. He serves as Chairman of the Board for OPEN Islamabad chapter.

                          • Azhar Khadim – Co – founder and CEO Aleph Private Limited

                            An entrepreneur with a unique vision encompassing not only the alleviation of the energy sector in Pakistan but also with an intent to payback the society in his own way. A Trojan Engineer and a Varsity Blue MBA from University of South California and University of Toronto respectively, and with over 20 years of distinguished work experience in private and public sectors, Azhar has ventured as an entrepreneur into energy sector and management consulting. He runs his own startup by the name of Aleph (Private) Limited.

                            Azhar brings a unique perspective to the group with his experience in public sector and management consulting.

                                • Dr M. Ayub Alvi – Dean (Academics) at National University of Computer & Emerging Sciences

                                    After getting PhD in Electrical Engineering from University of Manchester in 1982, he joined FAST. He is currently serving as Dean (Academics) in its National University of Computer & Emerging Sciences. He established FAST campus in Lahore in 1989, before he moved to Islamabad in 1996 to set up Islamabad campus of FAST. He is also Chairperson of HEC’s National Computing Education Accreditation Council.

                                    • Dr Syed Ismail Shah – Chairman PTA, CEO ICT R&D Fund

                                        With an extensive background in technology implementation and telecommunications policy making & regulations, Dr. Syed Ismail Shah is serving as the Chairman of the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) since 2013 and also holds the charge of CEO, National ICT R&D Fund Company since January 2016. Prior to becoming the Chairman of PTA, he served at the highest technical management position in the Pakistan’s Ministry of IT & Telecommunications as Member Telecom.

                                        Dr. Shah has led some of the most high profile undertakings in Pakistan’s telecommunications industry, including the undertaking of the PTA regarding spectrum auction and subsequent launch of 3G/4G and growth. Dr. Shah is a strong proponent of using ICT to create smarter societies. Combination of his very strong intellectual and technical rigor with his leadership roles, has given him unique and un-paralleled perspective to become a global ambassador for unleashing the power of ICTs. Dr. Shah is a Senior Member of IEEE and has more than 100 publications in International Conferences and Journals.

He has run various software product and services businesses in the US. Currently, he runs a software company based in California and Islamabad.

                                              Iqbal has also started a non-profit in Pakistan called Sabaq Foundation that provides free video lectures to Pakistani students.

                                                    Kalsoom Lakhani is the Founder/CEO of Invest2Innovate, or i2i, which supports startups and the broader entrepreneurship ecosystem in growth markets, and has been operating in Pakistan since 2011.

                                                    Kalsoom has extensive experience working with and training young entrepreneurs, and worked in Cambodia, Ireland, Bangladesh, Ukraine, and Kazakhstan, and has spoken at numerous venues, including the World Economic Forum, U.S. Chamber of Commerce, U.S. State Department, the Global Entrepreneurship Summit, and the Global Entrepreneurship Congress.                                                                 Before his election to the Senate, Osman Saifullah Khan held a variety of strategic and operating roles with the Saif Group, a diversified industrial and services conglomerate headquartered in Islamabad.
                                                                Osman Khan has remained a member of the Board of Management of Pakistan State Oil (PSO). He serves on the Advisory Committee to the Planning Commission of Pakistan, is a member of the Policy Board of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) and is also an Advisor to the President, Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences (GIKI). Osman Khan is a member of the Young Presidents Organisation (YPO).
