But do you ever find it challenging to explain what it is or why it’s important to your friends, team, or even to yourself? This talk will walk through the role of User Experience (UX) Design in product development through a case study from Google, remove some misconceptions, and share tips for building a case for design within your team, despite constraints.

"Almost 7 years of UX experience: first at a startup, then Ancestry.com and for the past ~5 years at Google. Projects usually involve close collaboration with engineers, product managers and other UX'ers like research, visual and motion designers, and prototypers. Work spans mobile, web, desktop as well as emerging surfaces like Smart Displays for the Google Assistant. Graduated with Bachelors of Science and honors in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Harvard ('11).
