Dr Aftab Ahmad Maroof is the Rector of FAST National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences, a leading institution in IT education and research. He has a rich academic experience of more than 40 years in various national and international universities. He has been associated with FAST National University for 25 years and has played a vital role in the establishment and growth of three campuses in Islamabad, Peshawar and Chiniot-Faisalabad. He has also been actively involved in the curriculum development of all computing degree programs in HEC since 2001.
Dr Aftab Maroof is passionate about providing quality education to the underprivileged students through ICT scholarship programs. He has headed the financial assistance program at FAST National University and has helped thousands of deserving students to get quality education. He is also keen on promoting quality research and has set up 20 advanced research labs at FAST National University with state-of-the-art technologies in the fields of ICT. He has fostered research collaborations with international universities in US, UK, Australia, Azerbaijan, Turkey and Belarus.
Dr Aftab Maroof is a distinguished academician who strives to make FAST National University a center of excellence for the national development. He is a visionary leader and a respected scholar in his field. He has also played a key role in IT Entrepreneurship in Islamabad through opening an Incubator at Fast University in 2008 and mentoring TiE Start UP Cup and Jump Start.
